My Interview with Van Meter Football Players Christopher and Kasey....By. Cael

By. Cael

For my first blog post, I interviewed two Van Meter football players.  Mrs. Volk recommended that I interview Kasey and Christopher, two of our seniors on the team.

I look up to my other teammates to help get fumbles, tackle and be a good team. This is what I learned in my interview too.

The Van Meter Bulldogs are one of my favorite teams, especially my favorite high school team. I hope they win at the state championship game again this year.  That was exciting.

My Trip To Disney World By. Arabella C.

This is Arabella. Let me tell you about my trip to Disney World!

I want to the Dolphin hotel. We went to EPCOT in a boat from our hotel.  EPCOT means- Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It was Mr.Disney’s dream of a future world.  I went to the lounge at the top of the pyramid that was awesome!
We went to Hollywood Studios .  I rode the Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster and it was awesome.  Something I liked about Rockin' Rollercoaster is that it goes from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds.
We visited Animal Kingdom.  We went to the world of Pandora and I rode an Ikran like a Banshee or dragon.  I went on a backwards rollercoaster called Expedition Everest.
We went to Beauty and the Beast’s castle at Magic Kingdom.  I love it at the castle, there are so many things to see.  I liked the 7 dwarves mine train and the Buzz Lightyear game.
My least favorite thing was getting wet on rides and it was very hot outside.  My favorite thing was playing Buzz Lightyear.

Get To Know The Van Meter School, By. Landry and Hannah

Van Meter is the best school ever, and the teachers are very nice. Our principals and superintendent are very nice too!

You always learn something new!

They have great books to read, a lot of good games to play, and a great playground! They have really, really good lunch and they make desert for the kids!

We also have two big gyms, and there are special events like Homecoming PBS walk. There are inspirational posters on the wall in the hallway and there are bulletin boards to put the kids work on to. We also have fun posters in the classroom. Each classroom has something new, and there is a new part of the school like a new gym and lunch room.

In third and first you get tickets. You also get to bring treats if it is your birthday!

Do you like school? What is your favorite subject?
We hope you liked learning about our school. That's all for now see you soon.

Hi!
My name is Ben.

We are the bloggers of Mrs.Volk's 3rd grade class. We are from Van Meter, Iowa, which is southwest of West Des Moines, the capital of Iowa.
For the past two weeks, Mrs.Volk, Mrs Miller, and Ms. Rabe have been talking with us about making a class blog.
In fact, we even get to work with high school friends as they will be the ones who help us edit our blog.
Today, we are finally starting!
First, we came up with a name and created the blog header.  Our blog is called Voices From The Van Meter Corner.
And our tag line is I Heard It From Mrs. Volk's 3rd Graders!
We hope you like our blog posts. Here are some types of posts we will do... travel, school, sports. fantasy, special events and lots more!

Once again, we hope you like our blog!
